submissions

We accept essays, close readings, reflections and reviews on the work of living, published poets. We also welcome articles on any aspect of contemporary poetry -- the scene, the readership, the state of things.

With the exception of book reviews, please focus your essay on one poem. To have the entire poem set alongside your reading, please provide a link (preferably from the poet's or publisher's website) or a statement from the poet giving permission to reprint her/his work. Without either of those, we'll happily print your essay with a reference for further reading -- please include the title, publisher, date and page number. Supply a brief bio and small photo of yourself as well, if you like. Submissions may range from 350 to 3500 words (See our Archives for reference). Please send them via email to: smith (at) strixvaria.com

We do not publish poems. Please see our links page for a list of journals that accept poetry submissions.
